Home tanning bed units are flying out of distributors stores. Why? Because most people do not like that pale half sick look that most of get during the winter months.
Researches now have a medical condition that is precipitated by non other than not being exposed to the sun during the winter months in many parts of the world.
Most people do not know it but mental health drugs like Zoloft, Paxil, Cymbalta etc are the top sellers of all drugs sold in America. Why do people get depressed and go on these drugs? Part of the problem is a condition called SAD. That acrostic stands for:
Seasonal
Affective
Disorder
You can imagine that if one is deprived from daylight for long periods of time our eyes become used to it and when exposed to the sunlight or daylight again it takes significant time to adjust.
So, a tanning bed at home may be the solution for some people. It never could hurt to try. As long as take some precautions.
Since a home tanning bed is meant as an alternative to the sun when you get your unit you must still take similar precautions as if you’d be exposed to the sun. So the moral here is use common sense. Apply tanning bed lotion that is right for you. Avoid the impatient temptation to “stay in a little longer”. This could result in damages to your most important bodily organ - your skin.
The tanning beds operate much like the suns rays does when it hits your skin. To get that bronze look it is important to use UVA AND UVB lotion to block those specific rays.
Some folks find using the creams that are also readily available a better option. I couldn’t tell the difference if I tried. In fact we normally use the lotion instead of the cream. Please protest yourself no matter what.
A personal home tanning bed may seem like an expensive fancy to some but if you suffer from SAD at all, you should give this a try. There is an abundance of financial assistance including a periodic payment plan that can fit your budget and time frame.
